La Grange is a city located in Fayette County in Texas. It is placed near the Colorado River. At the 2010 census, the town’s population was 4,641. La Grange used to be a site in the Spanish time next to the Colorado River. The town was fortified in 1837. When Germans were immigrating, the town used to be a major site for them. You can still see German and Czech influences on the town in this century. La Grange is the County seat of Fayette. The county seat was named after Lafayette, and the city has gained its name from his estate in France. La Grange translates to “The Meadows”. Some of the top sights in La Grange are Kreische Brewery & Monument Hill State Historic Site, Texas Quilt Museum, Buffalo Trail Park, and The Muster Oak Museum.
