Lufkin is a city located in Angelina County in Texas. The city’s population was an estimate of 35,510 people as of July the first 2018. The city was founded in 1884 and has gotten its name for Abraham P. Lufkin who was a Galveston city councilman. Lufkin was incorporated on the fifteenth of October in 1890. The town’s history can be divided into three different periods: The Railroad Era, The Timber Boom, and The Golden Era of Expansion. The city’s total area is 34.4 square miles as the U.S Bureau stated. Some of the top sights in Lufkin are Ellen Trout Zoo, Texas Forestry Museum, Museum of East Texas, and Naranjo Museum National History.
