Review of Athens, TX Farmers Market by TexasRealFood
The Athens, Texas Farmers Market (fondly called ATxFM and not to be confused with the Athens Community Market) started in 2012 as a non-profit organization providing the community with a local source for fresh vegetables, fruits, breads, and other homemade craft items.
In 2018, they encouraged and promoted a “locals only” market. For 2019 and on wards, this “locals only” policy is now a requirement for all vendors. This requires all vendors to be located within 50 miles of Athens. The market runs from 8am-12pm every Saturday between May through October. From November to April, they continue to be open every First Monday Saturday.
