Save the Food Austin is rescuing perfectly edible food. They are also rescuing people from hunger as a result. Talk about hitting two birds with one stone, right? As a non-profit organization, Save the Food Austin is facing two urgent problems head-on. The first problem is food wastage. It is common practice for groceries to throw away food that is still safe to eat. The second problem is hunger. Many people in Texas are victims of hunger and food insecurity, and by bringing edible food to hungry people for free, food is not wasted on landfills and hungry people do not have to spend the day with grumbling stomachs.
