After years in the entertainment industry, founder Marsha Milam established Provision Spirits. She then named the distillery and its products after Ben Milam, a distant relative and a hero of the Texas Revolution. In 2017, without her knowledge, her head distiller submitted their single barrel bourbon in the 2017 San Francisco World Spirits. It went on to win a coveted Double Gold. The distillery repeated its win with a gold in the 2018 edition.
In 2018, Marlene Holmes joined Marsha at Ben Milam as Head Distiller. Formerly from Jim Beam, she brings 27 years industry experience to the young distillery. Finally, in a casting coup of sorts, Marsha announced in early 2019 that world-renowned whiskey expert and author Heather Greene would join as CEO and Partner. Together, the three are launching the Milam & Greene Whiskies line.
