Review of Sutton’s Community Garden and Farmer’s Market by TexasRealFood
Glenn Sutton was a real estate broker but then decided he’s had enough and decides to pursue a dream in the form of Sutton's Community Garden and Farmer's Market. He purchased a 2.5-acre lot in south Kingwood, once the site of an organic farm complete with a greenhouse, sheds, garden beds, trees, and a multi-colored fence. It’s a work in progress for now, but this grassroots agricultural center aims to make the community aware about healthy eating. He envisions locals participating in a community garden and rents out garden spaces on the lot. There’s also a space for community events. He also hopes to see the community buying and selling the freshest produce from the farmer’s market. He doesn’t mind starting small. The market just had a few vendors when he first opened the farmers market.
