Crafted for prospective producers, this one-page checklist outlines 10 high-level steps for transitioning to organic certification. This easy-to-scan handout introduces new farmers to the certification process, including creating an organic system plan, understanding organic farm practices, and using only permitted fertilizers. Versions of this checklist are also provided in Spanish to help improve outreach in typically underserved agriculture communities. CCOF conducted a number of Sound and Sensible “Certification Made Simple” Workshops. This package also includes sample materials for organizations wanting to conduct outreach events about sound & sensible organic certification with their own communities.
