Patrick Scott ArmstrongThe Lone Star Plate Host
My role at Texas Real Food is simple. Represent. I have lived in Texas most of life. I grew up here, went to school here and worked most of my restaurant career in Texas. I host and produce a podcast called The Lone Star Plate that highlights the real food industry in the state, and also provides some entertainment and video content for the site. I’m basically the boots on the ground if you will.
My background is in restaurants and bars. I have been a player in the game for over 15 years. I’ve managed some top establishments, but the highlight was owning and operating my own foodtruck/catering business called BOCA serving Spanish cuisine in Austin. I enjoy working at TRF because of the family environment and the passion of the mission. Everyone is dedicated to providing their best work and never forgetting our mission to highlight Real Food in Texas. The Texas Real Food mission is to highlight and create a conversation about all natural organic sustainable health food made by real Texans. We aim to give a voice to the farmer, but above all, it’s about connecting the consumer with Real Food.
What’s your favorite ‘real’ food or Texas staple?
My favorite Texas Staples are Tacos and BBQ. You can find so many options at the highest quality all over this great state. From tacos al pastor to Brisket, the possibilities are endless.
