    Goldenwood Mushrooms opened in May 2018, intending to grow gourmet and specialty mushrooms and microgreens. They wanted to offer their food to the public, restaurants, groceries, and catering services. To start, the farm cultivates their mushrooms in rooms that they specifically made to produce high-quality shrooms solely. They can control the climate in each room to encourage fruiting. In addition to that, they also grow microgreens that thrive in soil. They use coffee grounds and mushroom production by-products to cultivate their microgreen soil. As a result, they can produce nutritious greens while being sustainable. Find them at Jolt Coffee and Beverage or visit their farm in Driftwood, off FM1826.

    Groundswell Farm is located on a historic property in Cuero. Steven and Cathy Koenig own this farm. Cathy is a retired biologist with more than 30 years of experience in handling vegetable garden and fruit orchard. Steven is a veterinarian who loves to "pastures his lambs, cattle, and goats in a management-intensive rotational grazing operation".  He also "intensively grazes the livestock, then moves them to a new paddock and lets the area rest".  Also, "the animals enjoy a rich diet of grass and forage while the landscape flowers and grows lusher". And, "this rich diet has led to a wonderful increase in lambs". They raise chickens, turkeys, sheep, goats, cattle and livestock guardian dogs – along with two vegetable gardens, a fruit orchard and native-pollinator garden. They also practice Holistic Management, a system of management and decision-making designed to work with natural cycles to heal the land and to actively work towards our vision of the best possible future.     Gary Henneke who owns this farm offers pasture-raised beef and pork, eggs, produce, cornmeal, corn flour, flaxseed meal, grits, jellies, herbs, produce, crafts. This 250-acre farm is located near Arneckeville in Cuero, Texas. In the early 2000s, they also implemented some holistic management practices because of its benefits. They also began introducing multiple species for enhancing the soil for the benefit of their cattle and other livestock. Bees also help in pollinating the vegetables in their garden. One of their loyal customers "really object to the way commercial chicken is raised". She was so glad that "he had pasture-raised chicken". She "thought it was the perfect solution". "People don't realize how much effort it really takes to produce a good food product, whether it's meat, vegetables, fruit," she said. "It's important to support small farmers. Even if they aren't organic, buy local."
