Established just in October 2018, the Bay Area Farmer’s Market in Friendswood, is growing steadily. With a mission to promote a healthy lifestyle for the community, the reviews have been generally positive and the community supportive of the organizers’ efforts.According to the organizers, they’re proud of the lineup of products sold at the market. These include hydroponically grown vegetables, organic produce and meat, raw honey, as well as raw dog food, bath and body products, and plant-based protein bars. Market on the Bayou is a project of the Dickinson Chamber of Commerce. Visit them every first Saturday of the month for some fresh seasonal fruits, vegetables, and other farm-fresh products. For the organizers of the Friendswood Farmers Market, a farmer’s market is not just a trend. It is a way of life. At Friendswood, their mission is to bring the community together over – just like the old days – fresh produce, artisan breads, local honey, delicious baked goods, and handcrafted items. It is open year-round every first Saturday of the month (except January and July) from 9am to 1pm. During the season, the market is located at Stevenson Park.

Galveston’s Own Farmers Market (GOFM) was founded in October 2012. A few years later, it has managed to take significant steps to ensure it fulfills its mission to “build and sustain a local food community through a vibrant, producers-only marketplace, improved food access, and educational programming”. • GOFM is the first (and one of just two) Houston-area producers-only market to accept SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) clients;
• GOFM is the only Houston-area market with a double dollars program; and
• GOFM is the first and only Houston-area market service WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) customers through vouchers.

While implementing these programs is a long and tiresome process, the organizers of GOFM made sure to accomplish them. In keeping with its mission and purpose, the market has managed to make it more equitable and accessible to those who need it the most.

The Market in Santa Fe is a Texas state-certified farmers market and venue for independent crafters, artisans, and retailers. Its market hours are 9:00am to 1:00pm on Saturdays. The market is about 6.5 miles south of Interstate 45 (Gulf Freeway), near the junction of State Highway 6 and FM 646 North. We are next door to Discount Tractor Sales and across from Slone Lumber Yard. The property is recognizable by its chain link fence. You should be able to see the wind streamers, too. A sign pointing to the market should also be nearby.
