Johnson County is a county located in the state of Texas. Cleburne is the county seat of Johnson County. Middleton Johnson is the namesake of the county. He was a Texas Ranger, a soldier, and a politician. Henry Briden was the first settler of the county. He built a cabin on the Nolan River. The log cabin still exists and is a great sight for tourists that can be seen beside State Highway 174 in Rio Vista. Wardville was the first county seat of Johnson County, it was then changed to Buchanan before it changed again to Camp Henderson.
