Jones County is a county located in the state of Texas. Anson is the county seat of Jones County. Both Jones County and the county’s seat Anson were named for a certain individual named Anson Jones. He was the fifth president of the Republic of Texas. The county was originally founded in 1858 and was officially established in 1881. Some of the top sights and tourist attractions set in Jones County are Historic Fort Phantom Hill, Hamlin City Park, and Cowboy Country Museum. Jones County comprises six cities and six unincorporated communities.
