The county of Roberts, located in the north-eastern region of Texas Panhandle, was established in 1876 and organized in 1889. It was named after Oran Milo Roberts, a governor of the state. This county is one of the six dry counties in Texas. It has been economically dependent on its agriculture and oil industries; beef cattle, corn, wheat, sorghum, soybeans, and hay were its major agricultural products. Roberts County also features numerous scenic drives and museums. Hence, tourism also plays a significant role in its economy; its county seat is home to the annual National Cow Calling Contest. Furthermore, traditional American, Mexican, Chinese, and Italian cuisines from burgers and barbecues, to pizzas and pasta are all being served in this county.
