Bourbon is an American whiskey distilled from corn and aged in charred white oak barrels. It goes amazingly well with the tartness of fresh cranberry juice. Sweetened with some rosemary-infused sugar syrup makes for one delicious cocktail.
1 cup of sugar
1 cup of water
2 sprigs of fresh rosemary (plus 2 to garnish)
2 jiggers (around 90 ml) bourbon
3/4 cup (around 175 ml) Cranberry juice
- Make the flavor syrup by combining the sugar and water in a small saucepan. Add the rosemary sprigs then bring up to a simmer. Turn off the heat and let the syrup cool.
- Once cooled fill a cocktail shaker with ice, bourbon, cranberry juice, and a couple of tablespoons of the rosemary syrup (around 1-2 tbsp per drink add nice rosemary notes).
- Close the shaker and shake vigorously for 30 seconds.
- Fill a glass with ice and garnish with a sprig of fresh rosemary then pour in the cocktail and serve immediatly.
