Cranberry-Bourbon Cocktail with Rosemary Syrup

Bourbon is an American whiskey distilled from corn and aged in charred white oak barrels. It goes amazingly well with the tartness of fresh cranberry juice. Sweetened with some rosemary-infused sugar syrup makes for one delicious cocktail.

Ingredients

1 cup of sugar

1 cup of water

2 sprigs of fresh rosemary (plus 2 to garnish)

2 jiggers (around 90 ml) bourbon

3/4 cup (around 175 ml) Cranberry juice

 

Instructions

  1. Make the flavor syrup by combining the sugar and water in a small saucepan. Add the rosemary sprigs then bring up to a simmer. Turn off the heat and let the syrup cool.
  2. Once cooled fill a cocktail shaker with ice, bourbon, cranberry juice, and a couple of tablespoons of the rosemary syrup (around 1-2 tbsp per drink add nice rosemary notes).
  3. Close the shaker and shake vigorously for 30 seconds.
  4. Fill a glass with ice and garnish with a sprig of fresh rosemary then pour in the cocktail and serve immediatly.
