Review of Farmers & Fleas Market Farmersville by TexasRealFood

The Farmersville Farmers & Fleas Market is a combination farmers market and flea market held at the town's historic Onion Shed. As the former “Onion Capital of North Texas”, the market site is a restored version of the sheds once commonly found in the area. These sheds were used for packing and shipping the town’s then most important produce. The market is a take on a mid-1800s tradition, the Texas “trades days”. During these days, local farmers, ranchers, and merchants buy, sell, or trade their produce, livestock, and other items. This unique market features local fresh produce, plants, food products, crafts, antique collectibles, and more. Held every first Saturday of the month since 2005, it is a project of the Farmersville Main Street Program. Their main goal is to assist sellers in the direct marketing of their product while helping attract more customers to downtown Farmersville.
