The Westchase District Farmers Market is a year-round, rain-or-shine farmers market. Held every Thursday starting at 3:00pm to 7:00pm, it’s an ideal midweek market for employees tied down to an 8-to-5 job or for carpool parents and residents needing locally grown produce.
The market first opened in 2013 through a $65,000 grant from the USDA's Farmers Market Promotion Program (FMPP.) These days, it features over two dozen vendors during its weekly markets. Popular items include fresh fruits and vegetables, pork, beef, eggs, and cheeses. Value-added products such as jams and jellies, honey, popcorn, specialty soaps, artisan breads, and olive oils are also regularly available.
Some reviews from recent visitors:
- “It's not the biggest farmers market around, but they always have everything I'd be looking for.”
- “Extremely convenient for me, too. I pick up a friend at work just across the street so we always stop by.”
