Open every 2nd
Saturday of each month, the Palm Center Farmer's Market is a community-based market supported by non-profit organizations and community partners. The Center's mission is two-fold:
- Enhance the community and its members
- Champion the education of the community to learn more about farm-to-table nutrition
Established in 2012, the Center also operates the Palm Center Community Garden. This garden is a working garden adjacent to the Center, and the source of most of their organic produce. They also sell fresh baked goods, homemade products, and handmade accessories.
Shoppers have a chance to buy double their SNAP benefits (up to $20) through the Center’s Double Up Food Bucks program. “This is (...) needed in all our neighborhoods”
, says a regular customer. This market is “truly for the community by the community”
, says another.
