The US unincorporated of Ben Bolt is found in the south-central parts of Jim Wells County, Texas. The town was named after "Ben Bolt and Sweet Alice", a hit song among the locals back then. Its name was chosen by L. B. Collins, who is credited with developing the area. Ben Bolt received its first post office in 1906, and the Aransas Pass and San Antonio Railway arrived here in 1914. The population of the town was 50 in 1914. It had grown to 120 in 1947 and shrank to 110 in 1990. The area has numerous eateries, a museum, and a theater.
