Bloomburg is a US town found in Cass County, Texas. Settlement in Bloomburg started before the beginning of the civil war. However, this town did not develop on a communal basis until Forth Smith and Texarkana railway construction crossing this area in 1895. On the opening of a post office in 1896, the place got its name for railroad company officials. This town served as a shipping center for farmers in that area as it was the last point of the railroad just before it left the state. Texas, Arkansas, and Louisiana railway was under construction in 1898 between Bloomburg and Atlanta but later abandoned in 1920.
