Colleyville is found in northeast of Tarrant County, Texas. The city is located in the Mid-Cities suburban region between Dallas and Fort Worth. Emerging from a number of small, rural settlements along the Cotton Belt Route, Colleyville was originally known as Bransford. The name came in honor of Dr. Lilburn Howard Colley, a physician and a veteran of the Union Army. Colleyville Nature Center is located away from the main traffic, providing peace to its visitors. Colleyville uses a council–manager government. In 2018, data from the American Community Survey ranked Colleyville as the 10th wealthiest city in the United States.
