Concan is famous for hunting during the winter while in summer the Frio River provides a perfect location for fishing. Bird watching in concan is widely known with various species of birds. Every mid-March, the Rio Frio Fest is hosted, showcasing Texas musicians, great food, and the Frio River. The area is found in north-central of Uvalde County. It was founded in 1840. Every fall, Mexican bats emerge from a cave and make their ascent into the evening sky. This is a tradition known as Sunset Bat Flight.
