Jourdanton is a city located in Atascosa County and is the county seat of the area. The current city mayor is Robert “Doc” Williams. The city was founded in 1909. The town’s name came from Jourdan Campbell, he bought 33,760 acres Toby Ranch, along with Col T. H. Zanderson, part of the land became Jourdanton. Jourdan Campbell later became a vice president of the bank. Jourdanton became a country seat in 1910. When it was changed from Pleasanton. The population of the town was 3,871 at the 2010 census. By the state of the U.S Bureau, the city has a total of 3.5 square miles all of it being land.
