Lefors is a city located in Grays County in Texas. As of the 2010 census, the town’s population was just under five hundred with 497 residents. The city was named for a foreman of the Diamond F. Ranch, Perry Lefors. Travis Leach platted his farmhouse on the site first in 1882. The town was appointed as a county seat when Grays County was established on the 27th of May, 1902. Even though there was no railway nearby and its small size, the town endured a county seat for a while. In 1928. The county seat was changed to Pampa. The town gained its incorporation by 1931.
