Lenorah is an unincorporated coterie located in Martin County in Texas. As of the year 2000, the town’s population was an estimate of seventy residents. J.F. Willingham and his family are considered the first founders of the community. They arrived in the area between 1906. And in 1908. The community’s post office was opened in 1925. It was submitted as Plainview but it was rejected because of Hale’s county seat that goes by that name. It was resubmitted and the name may have been from a county clerk, Lenorah Epley. The town’s educational system is provided by the Grady Independent School District.
