Lipscomb is a CDP located in Lipscomb County in Texas. Lipscomb is also the county seat. At the 2010 census, the town’s population was only 37 residents. Lipscomb public education system is distributed by the Higgins Independent School District. Lipscomb was founded in 1886. Settlers hoped to gain from Santa Fe Railroad in Panhandle. The post office was opened the same year. Lipscomb county was organized just one year later. The town and the seat were named after A.P. Lipscomb who was a secretary in the Republic of Texas. The town’s total area is 5.1 square miles according to the U.S Bureau.
