Lolita is a CDP located in Jackson County in Texas. At the 2010 census, the community’s population was 555. The area around the community was first settled in the 1840s by Isaac N. Mitchell. The community was officially founded in 1909. The name comes from a certain Lolita Reese who was a granddaughter of a veteran of the Texas Revolution. The community’s post office was established one year later. The CDP’s total area is 2.6 square miles as the U.S Bureau States, all of it being land. The public education of the community is distributed by the Lolita Independent School District.
