Loop is a CDP, and an unincorporated coterie situated in Gaines County in Texas. The community’s population was 225 as of the 2010 census. The lasso’s loop of the postmaster is why the town was named this way. John Sherman is said to be one of the first settlers of the town in 1905 before him there was a family named Quinn in the area. The community’s first name was Blue Goose, but the name was changed in 1912 to what it is today. The U.S Bureau stated that the town’s total area was 3.54 square miles and all of it is land.
