Loving is an unincorporated coterie located in Young County in Texas. At the 2000 census, the town’s estimated population was around 300 residents. The community is placed on State Highway 114. The community was founded in 1907 on land that was owned by Oliver Loving which is why the community is named this way. In 1909. The town was moved around one mile to the north in order to be closer to the Gulf, Texas and Western Railroad. The town’s population peaked at around 350 residents in the 1940s but has since then fallen down to 240 in the 1980s and rose up again to what it is today.
