The US unincorporated community of Masterson is located south of Moore County in Texas. It has an elevation of 3,704 feet. The community was established in 1927 and named after Robert Benjamin Masterson. It lies at the intersection U.S. Routes 287 and 87 southern of Dumas and is served with a post office whose zip code is 79058. In its peak, Masterson had a two storey hotel, a school, houses and a company store. It was also supported with a gas company plant that supplied compressed gas. A helium plant was also established and managed by the Bureau of Land Management. In 1937, Bivins Elementary School was established to serve students.
