The mineral was just some land that the settlers used to dig and create a well in the area. When the settlers found out that the water in the area was not for drinking, they analyzed it and the tests revealed that the water has sixteen different minerals in it. The town was first known as Mineral City and many people heard about it and wanted to bathe in the water. In 1889, they thought that deepening the well would increase the quality of the water, but it was the opposite. Before 1895, the town was renamed from Mineral City to just Mineral. The community is unincorporated and is located in Bee County in Texas. The coterie’s population is around fifty residents.
