Morgan is a city located in Bosque County in Texas. As of the 2010 census, the city’s population was 490. Morgan is located around seven miles northeast of Meridian which is the county seat of Bosque County. The town initially goes back to a meeting under an old oak tree in 1876. The post office of the town came to be in 1879 and was named Steele’s Creek. The city had two railroads in the town, first being the Texas Central Railway which was built when the town was created, and when the Gulf, Colorado and Santa Fe Railway came to the area, the residents were happy and renamed the town to honor Thomas Morgan who was a railroad official. The town has a total area of 0.8 square miles, all of it is land.
