Mount Calm is situated in Hill County in Texas. As of the 2010 census, the town’s population was 320. The town’s location moved around one mile north from its original location. The town’s settlement began in the 1850s when around 50 families came here to farm. The town’s name is said to come from the town’s early blacksmith. By 1858, the town was granted a post office and the general store of the town was established. The town of Mount Calm was incorporated in the early 1900s. As stated by the U.S Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.85 square miles. Mount Calm’s public education system is being distributed by the Mount Calm Independent School District.
