The Stray Grape Urban Winery "is a cute little place on the northeast side of town". This "place is really nice and relaxing" with "live music". They only produce 30 bottles at a time and each wine contains low-sulfides for freshness aside from decreased headaches. Aside from being a "great place to try new wines", you will also be "impressed with the service" when you visit. The staff is also "very helpful if you are not sure what your tastes in wine are". You can even "bottle your own wine and create labels if you have an event or something".

Whisper Path Cellars is located in San Antonio. They have won their "first medal" on their "very first vintage" in LSIWC. The Lone Star International Wine Competition (LSIWC) is the oldest wine competition in Texas. Their Tempranillo and Monastrell are the wines that have won bronze medals. "Situated amongst the old buildings in Old Town Helotes" and "tucked amongst the live oaks". "The majority of the wines" they make "are sweet, and a few dry wines". Try the "Cabernet Sauvignon" which is "very light" and has "an excellent taste". You may even have "a chance to try their wine made from a hibiscus flower (no grapes)" which is "really good". They will make you "feel right at home" and they are "very educational" in giving "background on their wines".

Timber Ridge Winery

Winery in Pipe Creek - 20.21 mi

Timber Ridge Winery is the only winery in Bandera County and they are located on the eastern edge near Pipe Creek. You will notice that the labels on their wines are a reflection of the local features in their area. A tree pictured on the Merlot label. This tree is also in the parking lot. Their Orange Muscat has a picture of the rock structure that visitors can see upon entering their place. There are "not many options out" there "but this one has a great wine". You will "loved the Orange Muscat" of this "small winery with big dreams!" Their Merlot is "nice" which is a "dryer variety". They have no website but they have a Facebook page. It is better to call them first before visiting and make sure it is the Texas location and not the one located in Pennsylvania.

The Dry Comal Creek Vineyards is "super close to Canyon Lake and New Braunfels" and "this gem has lots of outdoor space and some delicious wine offering". They have "furniture of wine barrels" that is "really nice". For the tasting, you will need to call them for reservations. All of their wine is 100% Texan, Cote du Comal, Roussanne (the best in the state), Sangiovese, Tempranillo to name a few.

You will "loved the location" and the "natural wines" when you "visit a unique winery in the hill country of Texas" that is the La Cruz de Comal Wines . The "prices seemed to be pricey but once you do the wine tasting, you'll know why". All their wines which are made as "a hobby" are "natural". There are "no additives" and perfect for "anyone who wants to taste" a "real wine". In 2012, the tasting room opened on the estate vineyard in Comal County, Texas. "The tasting room looks like a little cottage nestled in the French countryside". The owner "doesn't filter so the wines are a bit hazy and have some sediment/yeast on the bottom", the wines "ferment from wild yeast/bacteria on the grapes and whatever bacteria is in the HillCo air" and "this gives the wines an obvious farmhouse character (mild funk/horsey, slightly sour)". If you want to have an "excellent experience", this place is "definitely worth the drive out to Canyon Lake".
