Texline is a town in Dalam County, in the U.S. state of Texas. It is located on US 87, west of the county. The town underwent several disputes regarding its location for many years – is it part of Texas or New Mexico? After several survey corrections, it was decided to be in Texas. Nevertheless, the town was named in reference to its location on the New Mexico-Texas state line. It was established in 1888, when a railroad was speculated and built in the area. Texline was incorporated in 1916, but the number of residents decreased when the railroad shops were ceased in 1923. However, the community retained its churches and around twenty-five of its businesses. The town celebrates an annual XIT Trail Drivers’ Reunion. As of 2010, it has a population of 507.
