Veribest is located in eastern Tom Green County. The town would be called Mullins but another town in Mills County had the same name. Isaac "Ike" Mullins gave the land for a school and the Mullins Cemetery. Mullins Crossing on the Concho River still bears the Mullins name even if the town was not named after him. The town reached its peak during the 19340s with 100 people. But some Veribesters left during World War II to take war-related jobs which caused a decline in the population. In 2005 Veribest had a United Methodist church and a Baptist church, both involved in community outreach to local dairy workers.
