Winnie is a CDP situated in Chambers County in Texas. The town was originally platted by the Gulf and Inter-State Railway officials in 1895. Winnie Fox was a railroad constructor who worked for the line and the community was named after him. The town has a total area of exactly four square miles as stated by the U.S Bureau. Winnie’s public education system is being provided by the East Chambers Independent School District. The town had a total population of 3,254 as of the 2010 census, which means there are 813.5 people per square mile. The town is situated west of Anahuac which is the county seat of Chambers County.
