The Texarkana MSA is located east of Texas that is composed only of one single county – Bowie. The name Texarkana came from a combination of TEXas, ARKansas, and nearby LouisiANA. Texarkana is home to the only post office in the country that is physically located in two states as it was built right on the state line between Texas and Arkansas. A wide selection of food from the classic eastern-Texan adaptation of the south’s fried chicken and cornmeal-battered fried fish to international cuisine such as tapas, cheeses, some Mediterranean, and Asian food specialties serves the Texarkana MSA.
