Tim and Cyndi Daugherty opened the Paca D'Lites Ranch in 2002 with over 4 acres of land. They initially only had horses. However, when Cyndi experienced the quiet and gentle alpacas, she immediately dragged the farm into becoming an alpaca land. They purchased two alpacas from Navasota to test waters. Tim did the shearing of alpacas while Cyndi focused on learning how to make the fleece profitable. She learned how to skirt, clean, card, spin, knit, crochet, and weave. After mastering the art of growing alpacas, they have purchased egg-laying hens. Today, they have pigs, meat chickens, Brangus cattle, ducks, lamb, rabbits, and two children who are active in FFA events.
