The Band of Heathens: Stranger Coming Out

The Band of Heathens have been busy over lockdown. Isolating themselves in Portland they recorded their brand new record named ‘Stranger’ that is due to come out on 9/25.

Gordy Quist sings vocals, guitar and plays the harmonica, as well as being one of the main songwriters for the band. He is with me today to tell me all about their latest projects.

We talk about what his life’s been like touring with the band and he tells me the story of meeting Quincy Jones in Switzerland.

He had been performing countless amounts of shows all over the country, but with lockdown things have changed. Now he performs at online private shows for some of his closest fans.

Finally, he gives us an exclusive performance of his song ‘Cracking the Code’ and leaves me with shivers.

“Making music is a lot like making a dish. You’re trying to move somebody, you want them to experience the richness, the complexity, you might want to shock them with something.” - Gordy Quist
