A veteran owned and operated company making “homemade baked goods from scratch.” Owner James decided to bring all the delicious pastries and baked goods he mastered from being part of the “Presidential Food Service Security at the White House” to Bandera, where he now calls home. His specialty includes “Bacon-cranberry bread pudding” with a southern bourbon sauce that’s too delicious for words, chocolate chip peanut butter and bacon cookies to compliment his super-sized kolaches and chocolate chip biscotti! The “blueberry muffin” is the breakfast of champions. With an explosion of fresh blueberries in every bite and a sugary-cinnamon crumb topping that can only be described as heavenly there is no better way to start your morning.

This is a bakery-cafe where they share their “Mexican heritage and love for baking” with the people of their adopted hometown of San Antonio, Texas. They specializes in making “handmade bread and pan dulce” inspired by Mexico’s Golden Era, or Epoca de Oro, also draws influence from “French, Italian and American breadmaking techniques.” In addition to the menu options offered at Alamo Heights, they are also offering a “new bread made with kamut flour,” an ancient grain, meant to provide a healthy living option. They have also added grilled chicken to the menu, because the downtown kitchen is larger and able to accommodate a grill.
