Growing Growers Farmers Market

Farmers Market in McAllen -

The inaugural Growing Growers Farmers Market (sometimes stylized as "Grow'n Growers") debuted in February 2008, building upon a series of organic gardening and nutrition classes. Starting in September 2007, families were educated on cultivating backyard gardens, aiming to secure a fresh produce source and even supplemental income. By February 2008, these families were primed to vend their yields at the newly formed farmers market. Although the market emphasizes organic practices, official certification is often lacking due to cost constraints for small-scale operations. Alongside a diverse range of offerings, the market provides grass-fed meat, honey, jellies, eggs, baked goods, and organic beauty products. Attendees can also relish cooking demonstrations, food tastings, and master gardening sessions. A recent visitor exclaimed, "The wealth of information and expertise is truly impressive." Discover the holistic experience at Growing Growers Farmers Market.

Harlingen Farmers Market

Farmers Market in Harlingen -

The Harlingen Farmers Market, which was established back in December 2009 with just a few vendors, has come a long way since its inception. Thanks to the unwavering support from the City of Harlingen and the local community, HFM has officially transformed into a 401C Non-profit organization, experiencing remarkable growth in both its scope and scale. Now, the HFM boasts a permanent and shaded location at the City Hall's parking area, providing a welcoming space for visitors and vendors alike. On any given seasonal Saturday market day, you can find over thirty vendors offering an incredible array of locally and sustainably grown produce and food products that showcase the best of local ingredients. To maintain the focus on supporting the local community, all vendors are required to be within a 50-mile radius of the City. One of the many perks for the vendors at HFM is its convenient afternoon schedule, which allows them to actively participate in two markets each Saturday. This flexibility not only benefits the vendors but also ensures that visitors have access to a diverse range of offerings throughout the day. Experience the vibrant and bustling atmosphere of the Harlingen Farmers Market, where community support and local sustainability are at the heart of everything we do.
