Dorper is to Lamb what Angus is to Beef and they are the best breed for the meat! These are also 100% Dorper market lambs and packaged lamb cuts. Dorper is a single-purpose breed, developed specifically for premium meat characteristics. They do not produce as much lanolin as wool sheep but the flavor and aroma of the meat are milder than wool sheep meat. There are also abundant coastal hay, native grasses, and forbs on their place along the banks of the Guadalupe River which is very conducive to sheep. Raising “all-natural” lamb is the best way to achieve the highest quality product with the fewest negative impacts.
