The Heights Grocer is an electric blue-colored shop that carry an “affordable and quality selection of wine,” with an emphasis on natural wine. “Owner James Haven” opened the the store in 2017 after moving back to Houston from Los Angeles. This neighborhood go-to store boasts a heavily curated natural-wine selection, with about “100 labels available most of the time,” including a few Texas wines. They focuses on “small-production natural winemakers,” and offers a healthy selection of skin-contact wines. They try to source as many local artisans and makers as possible. The Heights Grocer also have a “Wine club” where members have the option to choose between a package of three, six, or twelve bottles a month, each delivery comes with its own narrative.
