Texas Cities & Towns Starting with K

The kit fox, scientifically known as Vulpes macrotis, is one of the smallest species of the American foxes. It is oftentimes confused with the swift fox, scientifically known as Vulpes velox and the smallest species of the American foxes, as these two mammals have similar appearances. Although both genera thrive all throughout the state of Texas, the kit fox is popular and can be found in the southwestern region of the state such as the Trans-Pecos and Edwards Plateau, while the swift fox is known and can be found in the northern region of the state. Both genera also produced hybrid offsprings that can be found west of Lubbock and Odessa. Nevertheless, kit foxes and swift foxes became a vital part of the Texas wildlife.
