4th Tap Brewing Cooperative

The 4^th Tap Brewing Cooperative is Texas’ first worker-owned brewery, and one of the first in the U.S. It took the founders 6 years of planning, and they finally opened in November 2015. Today, each person you see making, selling, or serving their delicious craft beers owns a piece of 4^th Tap. The brewery is located in north Austin. The taproom was “designed to bring together [the] neighborhood… and share 4^th Tap’s love of beer, art, music, and much more.” And, wrestling is one of those “much more”. The Draught House Pub and Brewery has had a long history. Celebrating its 50^th year in 2019, the first owners were Wayne and Gay Overton in 1969. They ran the pub for 25 years until Wayne passed on. The building and the pub changed hands a couple of times until current owner Josh Wilson took over in 1999. In the intervening years, with a brewery system installed in 1995, the pub started brewing its own beers, and the number of taps increased to 74. It’s included in "America's Best Beer Bars" by Playboy Magazine, maybe back when Playboy was still a purveyor of good taste. Guidry brothers JD, Grant, and Blake, together with Jackie Blakely, their sister, joined forces and took on different roles in putting up the company. Double Horn Brewing Co

Originally established by two husband-and-wife teams in 2011, Double Horn Brewing Company has been under new ownership since Fall 2016. The brewery continues to take pride in “providing some of the best beer in Central Texas”. The brewery takes its name from a tiny Texas town founded in 1885. It refers to an incident at the nearby creek where the “remains of two bucks with interlocked antlers” were found. Presumably, the deers tussled and died with antlers entangled. The brewery hopes “to capture, preserve, and celebrate the pioneering spirit and inventiveness” of the early Texas communities. At the time of its opening, the Double Horn was the only brewery in Burnet County. It still is. Despite the change in ownership, they continue to serve both lunch and dinner. Established to provide a focus on English-style ales, the team opened another taproom just a stone’s throw away from the Barber Shop's location. The name is taken from a “restorative or cordial medicine or application”. The taproom opened in September 2017. It provides a selection of craft beers – not just English ales. It even has wine, cider, and sodas for non-fans of craft beers.
