Oddwood Ales is a small brewery and pub in East Austin that specialize on making American style wild ales, lagers and hoppy pale ales but also aim to fill the tap wall with the best representations of many beer types. They also have wine and food menu such as small thin crust bar pizza and other Italian fare. To complement this, they pulled together a list of Italian wines with the help from “Alex Bell of Aviary Wine & Kitchen.” Their space was designed as a cozy neighborhood pub. The place has ample parking options, large indoor seating with lots of fun video and arcade games. They also offer a fabulous happy hour where beers are $2 off and pizzas are $5.

Orf Brewing

Specializing in hybrid ales, Orf Brewing provides unique beverages that you won't find anywhere else, inspired by a “deep love of chemistry and beer.” This company is based in South Austin, in an area of town that is rapidly becoming a “brewery row” of sorts. They work out of a 2500 sq. ft. bay and 950 sq. ft. tasting room in a warehouse strip populated by such industrial small businesses. They do have a small beer garden surrounding large oak tree out in front of their roll-up door. Orf Brewing take traditional elements from diverse origins and let them mix and mingle in non-traditional combinations which result in “exceptional, distinctive recipes” that stand apart from typical craft beers being produced today. While some beer styles are currently produced by two or more Texas breweries, their styles are always unique.

Oskar Blues Brewery

Founded in 2002, Oskar Blues Brewery is the “1st American craft brewery to brew and can beers.” They shattered craft beer convention by stuffing their voluminously hopped mutha of a brew, “Dale’s Pale Ale,” into a portable, crushable, infinitely recyclable can. They want to craft beer in can because it stays fresher for longer, and it’s easy to pack in and pack out on any soul-saving adventure. Oskar Blues Brewery is now operating their breweries in “Colorado, North Carolina and Texas” to provide craft beer in a can to all 50 states, Washington, D.C. and 17 other countries. Other offerings include Old Chub Scotch Ale, Mama's Little Yella Pils, G'Knight Imperial Red Ale, GUBNA Imperial IPA, Ten FIDY Imperial Stout, Deviant Dale's IPA, and other specialties.

The menu is not only made up of its classic and specialty pizzas, it also offers its signature “Off the Map Pies” and an array of tasty salads, appetizers and desserts. They were named Austin’s Best Brewpub and Best Food & Beer Spot of 2013 and won a Great American Beer Festival. They also received Bronze Medal for its Blind Jake Porter in 2013, and a Bronze Medal for its Jaguar Shark Bourbon Barrel Age Stout in 2014.

This brewery "now has spirits as well and their craft beers to go". With "super friendly staff" and "laid back hill country experience", a visit is "great any day of the week but lower-key weekdays". They also "do a great job of hosting events with an awesome taproom and party area". You can choose from a "wide selection of on-site brewed beers" as well as "bourbon and gin, which is pretty darn good!" They are also a reputable supporter of "the running and cycling community and are big giving back to the community".

RentSch Brewery

Focusing on German style beers, RentSch Brewery is a craft brewery in Georgetown Texas that was founded by father and son David and Andrew Rentschler. The inspiration for opening a brewery began in Europe where Andrew was studying German. Their facility is run entirely on “wind and solar power,” making their production 100% renewable. Their selection of brews is a mix of both old and new world styles with something for everyone like “Hefeweizen, Weizenbock, Blonde, IPA and Special Releases.” High demand for beer quickly exceeded their production capacity leading to an expansion of what you see today. They have doubled the brewery’s size, increased production capacity tenfold and added a state of the art canning line to bring Rentsch to you. If you’re in the neighborhood, swing by their taproom and beergarden to get a real taste of the beergarden life.

Root Cellar Cafe and Brewery

Producing a range of locally sourced Belgian-style brews, Darkside Fermentation is located in the storage room of “The Root Cellar Cafe in San Marcos.” It started when Brewer and owner, Silas Parker approached The Root Cellar’s owner, Kyle Mylius in May 2009 to sell Darkside beer in the cafe. They offer Darkside’s flagship beer, “Mark of the Yeast: 78666” which is referred to by Parker as a “dark medieval ale.” This beer is nourishing and the finish lingers. Other beers in the Darkside lineup include the draught beers BrideAle and GroomsBeer, Weiz Guy, Golden Mean, and Pale Rider, a Belgian pale ale. Come in and try some these great beer that are brewed in-house. They also have a lot of seasonal flavors to choose from.

Roughhouse Brewing

Roughhouse Brewing is a family-run brewery that creates oak-fermented, American farmhouse beer on their ranch in San Marcos, Texas. Their American farmhouse beer complements the Texas backdrop which is dry, crisp and refreshing. They started Roughhouse Brewing in January 2019 with a drive to do meaningful work that brought the owners closer to their land and the community. The brewery and taproom are housed in a wooden barn with a welcoming, homey aesthetic, offering a range of beer as well as guest wine and cider. Their yeast-centric ales undergo 100-percent fermentation in American White Oak feeders using their house, mixed culture, which includes yeast harvested from the Pasternak Ranch. The expansive outdoor seating area at Roughhouse Brewing also includes a stage for live music every Saturday.

Started out with 1 beer, San Gabriel River Brewery is now producing “8 different types of beer and ale ranging from a German Weiss up to a Honey Porter.” They keg and bottle their own products. For your drinking pleasure, they serve pints, tastings and growler fills at their tap room. San Gabriel River Brewery enjoys the rich craft of brewing beer and they look forward to providing a quality beer/ale for many years to come.

Everything about the ingredients are thoughtfully chosen. They uses select group of hops that European brewers have designated for centuries as being superior hops. Its malt is imported from Belgium or Germany, and even the local water is perfect for the process. Save the world brewing also offers some games that you can play including corn hole, big block jenga, ring toss, as well as cards & board games. Southern Heights Brewing Company is a colorful craft brewery owned by by Austin Russell and Chris Rich. They have a large tap room, offering a variety of house-brewed beer on tap and free wifi! The brewery is an expansive 7500 square feet and is dog-friendly, with plans for an outdoor patio. They have a chalkboard menu of beer, light colored wooden tables, and a wall of fermenters and brewing equipment. They brew their own craft beer and have several on tap available in flights or pints. They have a wonderful selection of IPA's which is probably the biggest in Austin, as well as a great selection of light beers and delicious dark beers. Regardless of the type of beer you like, you will find one of their beers interesting!

St Elmo Brewing Co
