"Saxon Farms is famous for its tomatoes grown in Ben Wheeler, Texas". Started by E.L. and Mary Jane Saxon in 1950, now operated by Stacey and his brother Gary. Their tomatoes are known throughout East Texas and beyond for being large and meaty, and having that bold vine-ripened tomato taste. "The flavor of those sweet tomatoes" is "so amazing" that you "could not stop eating them". Also, there is a little sign that reads “put your money in the jar and take what you want”. Even if the owners are not there, "you could drive up and grab a basket of tomatoes". You will be thankful and be reminded "of what a tomato is supposed to taste like". "The deep sandy soils here close to Ben Wheeler and by allowing our tomatoes ripen on the vine make a big difference in the way our tomatoes taste", according to the owner.
