Groundswell Farm is located on a historic property in Cuero. Steven and Cathy Koenig own this farm. Cathy is a retired biologist with more than 30 years of experience in handling vegetable garden and fruit orchard. Steven is a veterinarian who loves to "pastures his lambs, cattle, and goats in a management-intensive rotational grazing operation". He also "intensively grazes the livestock, then moves them to a new paddock and lets the area rest". Also, "the animals enjoy a rich diet of grass and forage while the landscape flowers and grows lusher". And, "this rich diet has led to a wonderful increase in lambs". They raise chickens, turkeys, sheep, goats, cattle and livestock guardian dogs – along with two vegetable gardens, a fruit orchard and native-pollinator garden. They also practice Holistic Management, a system of management and decision-making designed to work with natural cycles to heal the land and to actively work towards our vision of the best possible future. You can visit their farm and inquire about their products. You can "enjoy this good food and know that it is grown with love by wonderful people!"
The Turkey Hollow Farm is established by the Kellers, who are passionate about "farming full-time, educating those who'll listen, and giving folks an alternative food system." The farm has all sorts of protein options for your cooking pleasure, available at the Victoria Farmer's market. "The quality of their meat goes unmatched and the flavor is better than any" you will ever taste. Through their products, patrons are "able to buy local and nourish" your "family with an assortment of their products".
