Cody Smith, the owner of Cobb Creek Farm, established the business in 2012. In the beginning, the only had cows in the ranch. Eventually, he added sheep and chickens to the farm.

Little did Cody expect that the chickens will bring a significant impact to his farmland. Quickly after he added the chickens, grass and insects have flourished in the area.

Soon after, Cobb Creek focused on breeding chickens. Today, Cobb Creek is one of the largest pastured chicken producers in the USA. 

But Cody keeps on improving. In 2017, he started raising pork on the farm. For the latest updates, check their beautifully designed website.

Regenerative Agriculture

Regenerative agriculture is a conservation and rehabilitation approach to food and farming. Some of its key focuses are topsoil regeneration, increased biodiversity, improving the water cycle, enhancing ecosystems, supporting biosequestration, increasing resilience to climate change, and improving the health and vitality of farm soil. Practices involved with regenerative farming include recycling as much farm waste as possible and adding composting materials from sources outside of the farm.

A non-profit trade organization that encourages the production, processing, marketing and purchasing of poultry raised on pasture. They see pastured poultry as the model for environmentally, emotionally, and economically sensible poultry production that can feed your local communities uniquely nutritious, delicious, and humanely-raised chicken, eggs, turkey, ducks, geese and guineas. Pastured poultry require two things: access to grass (pasture) and frequent movement (rotation). Birds live outside as appropriate for the age of the bird and the season of the year.
