It was born out of a request from friends of the owner, Ruth Butterfield to cook for their families. The first years were spent catering receptions at schools, cooking weekly meals for neighborhood families, and experimenting with wine and appetizer parties at home. The business has grown into a specialty foods shop with a unique niche for home-crafted sweet and savory pies. Now, Butterfield Gourmet continues to serve the community by providing sweet and savory pot pies, cocktail nibbles, meals, salads, and more that are “made locally and created with love!” They also offer personalized gift boxes where you can select from their different flavors of nuts, crackers, cookies or bark/toffee to create a unique gift!
